my life is taking over my scrapping time!

Wow, it has been such a busy week! I can't believe how long it has been since I posted last! We have been having fun enjoying the slightly cooler weather and getting out and about a bit more. This first pic is of Auds at her cousin's 3rd birthday party. It was a fairy party and my dad dressed up as a magician and did his special magic tricks for the littlies! They were a bit young to full appreciate it, but us big kids weren't!

Today we took the kids to Slaughter Falls in the hope of some water fossiking...tadpole collecting and the like. But we got there and the falls were not really falling, more like dripping! We made the most and amused the health nuts bush walking at 20 kph by playing hide and seek around the rocks...listening to a two year old 'count' to twenty would bring a smile to anyone's face!

Last week I was lucky enough to accompany Thomas on his first excursion. It was more for my peace of mind than his! They took the kids to the sensitivity unit at Craigslea State School, where they get to experience doing things they take for granted with a simulated disability. It is an awesome centre which everyone, young and old should visit. I think a lot of it was lost on the 5 year olds...they are so open and understanding at this age, but hopefully they will remember their experiece as they get older and give more PATS in the future. I know I and the other mums got a lot from the experience!
The Stitches and Craft Show is coming up! It looks like I will be really busy with both Scrapbook City and Fiskars! Luckily they are accross the way from each other, so that will be great! At least I won't get lost! LOL! I received a lovely gift from Fiskars this week...a 4 year subscription to Scrapbooking Memories! May as well be a lifetime's membership! What a lovely gesture from them...and it was almost time for renewal too! Takes the pressure off me to drop one of the other subs now too! Head over to Helen's Blog to keep up with what Fiskars have planned!
And, the big news...I went clubbing last night!!! It was Nikala's birthday so along with Terri, Penny and Sarah we had a very nice dinner at the Storey Bridge Hotel. The wine man was very nice and even made a caocktail up to suit Nikala's prefernce in flavours! Needless to say, it was perfect...made me wish I had caught a cab! But since I was designated driver I restrained myself to 2 drinks at dinner! After tea, the girls went home which left Nikala and I to paint the town red! I have to say, that although I didn't feel too old, I am so glad I don't go clubbing every week! Even with the absence of cigarettes...and that really made a difference...it was still so cloying and there were way too many people in my personal space at one time! LOL! If I had been drinking I would have had a boogey...my toe was tapping, but I was still a bit self conscious. I miss the feeling of the bass pumping through your chest though! Nothing like a bit of loud music every now and then...as long as it is good music anyway! And for the first time in my life, I did not run into anyone I knew, which was actually a bit disappointing. Usually I can't go anywhere without recognising someone from somewhere, but last night there was no-one. Not overly surprised, but it kind of made me feel a bit out of the loop!
I have not scrapped all week! I spent all Sunday night sorting flowers and listening to tales of the best Scrapping Cruise ever! So now I have both perfectly colour coded Primas and a longing to go cruising in 2009!!! Seriously sounds like a blast! Hope and Rach were over with K and her sis and they really had an awesome time! I know I would love it if I plucked up the courage to go, but I doubt I will! But if you are keen to try one...go with SAM!
have a great week...off to fold the washing...then scrap my heart out!

Hey Ang,

After listening to Terri and Milly and Rachel talking about the cruise, I have started up my bank account to go on the 2009. Want to do the same? Would love to have you on the cruise with us. Auds would be old enough (Shane will be nearly 4)

Think about it, will you?

Jo.

Glad to hear that the scrap cruise was a success. Mental note: Next time we'll get the boys to drop us in the city, now that we're clubbing chicks again lol! Cute photos.

Wow Ang - sounds like you and Nikala had a great time - I got invited to a Hen's night next Friday night but I am going camping - probably a good thing - don't quite pull up like I used to LOL!
