Movies are such a big part of mine and Greg's lives. B.K. (before kids) we went to the cinema at least once a week and rented movies on one other night. We collect all our favourite DVD's and still watch the classics over and over again. So it makes sense that I do get a little passionate about the films we see that stir us...really make us think. It has been a while since I was excited over a new movie, but today we watched 'crash' while the kids were sleeping and it was soooo thought provoking I am still reeling!!!
It is a snapshot into the lives of about 16 characters and how modern US society is still so racist. I found it to be so raw and confronting and have been forced to look at my perception on society and how naive I am! I was gobsmacked at the total lack of tolerance portrayed in this film, but the message was there...racial intolerance is rife. I suppose I always thought that people think how I do...guess that is not the case.
Anyway, if you feel like seeing something that makes you think hard...watch this one...you won't be sorry.
Sometimes I scrap, sometimes I post pics...sometimes neither, sometimes both....totally random!

oops, forgot!
I did it...yay!
Well, I have finally completed a competition entry! Not sure if it was scrap fright or just plain laziness with the Masters and FK Elite, but I have completed my entry for the Chatterbox DT and sent it in today EXPRESS!! My layouts were not spectacular, they were just in my style and I really loved them...hard to stuff up the CB really though!
Spent the morning up at the shops with mum and the kids. They were quite well behaved for a change, although there is always some little old lady who has to say 'how do you cope?'. I cope fine! They are great kids! They are always dressed nicely when we go out. They are clean and aren't screaming and having tantrums. They don't run off and they don't touch everything in the store. What do people expect??? Mute statues???
Enough ranting, I am off to watch vol 3 of the scrapbook creations DVDs. Have a great day!

hello hello
WOW...what a day! Two dress up parties, dinner witht he inlaws and a scrapping frenzy! The kids have had the most exciting day since last Christmas and have come out of it in a good way...tired but happy!
I am feeling pretty good tonight. It may have something to do with the can of Pepsi Max I just skulled, or the fact that I have done a really good layout (IMO!!) or the idea of a new week. Don't know why, but I am feeling happy!
Only 11 more sleeps til ISC in Sydney. I am so excited I can't wait. I started my swap cards during the week...hopefully they will be OK. Of course I used Chatterbox on them so they do look nice, but I have never been to anything like this before and I don't want to look like I didn't put enough effort in!
While we are on the topic of Chatterbox, have I mentioned how much I love this range of scrapping stuff??? Not in the last 5 minutes? Well, there is something about it that just makes my day. I don't know anything else in the world that makes me feel so happy when I use it...bit sad I know, but hey, it is better than drinking or smoking!!!
We had a look at some more display homes this weekend. It kind of got me fired up about building again. I just want to be able to move on from where we are at the moment and be settled. I don't feel settled here and I am sooo sick of telling the kids to not make a mess! Fingers crossed for a sale by the end of the week...but don't hold your breath! We have been let down before!

Monday
I love mondays. They are the only day of the week that I don't have to be organised to rush out the door before Audrey has her morning nap. And I babysit a friend's little girl, so the gender balance is tipped in our house for a day at least. We had a great day baking and generally playing around both inside and out. Today is one of thse days I am glad I have chosen to stay home with the kids.

one very happy scrappy chappy
hi all...just come home from a retreat at SAM. totally exhausted, but had such a great 24 hours away from home. I am all refreshed and ready to start the week anew! I love my friends (you know who you are :)) and feel so inspired to scrap up a storm.
We spent the first half of last week at Caloundra with my mum. The kids had an unreal time at the beach...Thomas learnt to boogie board. he even got dumped a couple of times, but still came up smiling. So out of character for him.

To my dismay, I have discovered that my darling little precious daughter is a sand eater! LOL! I was so proud of my boys. They never stooped so low as to eat dirt, or cockies or anything that often finds its way into toddler's mouths! Not that I ever discovered anyway! Then there is Audrey, who seems to enjoy a bit of a sandwich (HAHA). It could be worse I suppose!
Can't wit to get stuck into some scrapping this week. I have converted another friend and she loves the shopping part as much as the scrapping part, so we are all set! Have a great week!

OOOOH I am loving this camera! Haven't had much time for scrapping, but that will come. I tell you what though, there is a market out there for people who come and teach you how to make the most out of your digital camera in your own home! So if anyone out there knows of someone who will come to the house, let me know. I am a kinesthetic (sp?) learner...I learn through doing and these manuals are a little bamboozling. I can take a good shot, just not totally up with the processing side!
Here are a couple of Jose...my easiest subject to shoot!

Isn't he the sweetest little
thing???
And here is one of Audrey with her cheeky grin. I tried for months to capture it on film, had the digi for two days and got it! YAY!
Only three more sleeps til we go to the coast! Can't wait to get some great shots there! Hopefully I will be able to find a pair of togs before we go that are any colour other than black or brown, but if I want a one piece, I may have to relent!

I am a lucky girl!!!

Wow...I am still in shock. We finally took the plunge and bought a digital camera today. Not just any digital camera, but the one I have been ogling for a while now. It rocks. It is so cool. I can do so much with it. Greg thought I spent too long on the computer at the moment, wait til I get right into these images!
Here are a few of our first shots. Be nice...we are still learning and there is a lot to learn. for those who care, we got the Canon 20D. Didn't go the bigger lens at this stage, but there are plenty of birthdays and Christmas' to come!
So thank you to my dear husband, who can still surprise me after all! I think in the photo he took of the four of us, I still look a little stunned!
Had a huge shopping spree on Saturday. Got Greg some new threads from Colorado, some thongs for the boys, a fairy dress for Audrey, a couple more skirts and tops for me (like I needed them!!) and of course, some photos (from the old camera) I think that was the deciding moment for Greg, because the film had somehow gotten water in it and half the photos had a watermark on them...so disappointing.
No sale on the house this weekend...this saga is turning into an epic novel!
Got a fairly quiet week planned...getting ready to go to the beach next week.
Take care,
Ang
